The cuisine in the God's own country is aromatic and pungent. Colorful, rich and vivid - kerala cuisine is filled with multiple delights to ones senses. Freshly available vegetables, seafood, poultry, meat etc blend in many forms with vegetables, coconut milk, herbs, spices etc.. This tour will take you through some of the famous Indian and Kerala dishes heard and seen in any part of the world. Bon Appetit..!

Day 1

Arrival in Trivandrum International airport. You will be greeted and assisted by our representative to the beach resort in Kovalam. Kovalam, the world renowned beach destination- is only 18kms from 'Trivandrum' city which is the capital of the state of Kerala. Rest of the day for relaxation.

Day 2

You will be picked up by 10am to one of the premier culinary institutes which is situated in Trivandrum city. A lecture / theory session follows which will give you an insight about spices, masalas, herbs, cooking methods and other basic information about Indian cuisine. By afternoon proceed for a city sightseeing tour which includes a local market visit. By evening return to your room in Kovalam

Day 3

9th DEC - Full day for sightseeing in Madurai

Day 4

By 10am you will be picked up to the culinary institute for practical classes. This day you will learn to make the famous chicken / mutton biriyani and its side dishes. By evening back to Kovalam

Day 5

By 10am you will be picked up to the culinary institute for practical classes. Today's menu include Kerala fish curry, prawns masala etc..By evening back to Kovalam

Day 6

By Morning 9am you will be picked up from your hotel / resort and taken to Aleppey (3hrs) to board a houseboat for an overnight cruise, through the scenic backwaters of Kerala. In the houseboat you will get the chance to learn the exotic 'KARIMEEN fry' (Fried Pearlspot) and other vegetarian dishes. Overnight on board.

Day 7

Disembark the houseboat in Kumarakom and head to ‘NAZARANI home stay’(2hrs) which is situated in Palai- a Christian dominated area in central Kerala. This region is famous for its traditional delicacies . The cooking sessions here includes THARAVU ROAST (duck roast), Beef Ularthiyathu (beef roast), vegetable Khorma etc..

Cooking sessions at Nazarani home stay.

Day 9

Check out by 9am and proceed to Thekkady. (3hrs) Check in into forest resort. Periyar (Thekkady) Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the well maintained wildlife sanctuaries of South India and is spread out over an area of 777 sq kms. The splendid artificial lake formed by the Mullaperiyar dam across the Periyar river adds to the charm of the park. Day, free at the sanctuary. A nice little trekking trip through the forest at your choice. Evening, go for Spice Plantation visit where you can touch, smell and taste almost all the spices seen worldwide. In these private spice plantations you will see how the spices actually grow in their plant form.

Day 10

Check out and drive further uphill to Munnar. (3hrs) Check in into the hill resort for two nights Munnar - breathtakingly beautiful - a haven of peace and tranquility - the idyllic touristdestination in God's own country. Set at an altitude of 6000 ft in Idukki district, Munnar was the favored summer resort of the erstwhile British rulers in the colonial days. Unending expanse of tea plantations - pristine valleys and mountains- exotic species of flora and fauna in its wild sanctuaries and forests - aroma of spice scented cool air - yes! Munnar has all these and more.

Day 11

Full day for relaxation / sight seeing etc

Day 12

Check out from Munnar by 9am and proceed to Kochi(79kms / 2hrs) Check in into hotel. Check in to the hotel. Kochi (colonial name Cochin) is a vibrant city situated on the south-west coast of the Indian peninsula in the breathtakingly scenic and prosperous state of Kerala, hailed as 'God's Own Country'. Its strategic importance over the centuries is underlined by the sobriquet Queen of the Arabian Sea.

Day 13

Drop at Kochi international airport for your flight to travel back home.
